WK Uptown is the sire of the 2011 National Western Stock Show Reserve Grand Champion Bull, Top Shelf and many time champion Lazy JB Destiny 001. Several of his daughters will sale in the Western Divas Show Heifer Sale and his progeny will sale in Lazy JB's annual bull sale in March 2012.
Uptown was the $10,500 high selling son of the Network sire group in the 2007 WK Bull and Horse Sale.
WK Uptown was used AI in the 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011 breeding season at Whitestone Krebs, Lazy JB, Rockn' R, and others. Uptown calves are the talk of the Angus breed; their modest birth weights combined with their impressive phenotype combined with their performance are attracting attention from cattlemen across the country. They are peas in a pod in terms of consistency.
WK Uptown is backed by an extraordinary mother who was a top producerin the Whitestone Krebs cowherd with progeny ratios of BW 3@99, WW 3@106, YW 3@104, and 3@105 for both IMF and RE. She was the high selling cow in the 2010 WK Production Sale. His paternal granddam is the mother of the popular ABS sire, Connealy Lead On!
To date, WK Uptowns mother has never weaned a calf that weighed less than 765 lbs., or that scanned with less than a 15 square inch rib eye!
WK Uptown has proven himself suitable for high altitude environments with a PAP Score of 37. He worked all summer at an altitude of 8000 feet.

Top Shelf is a standout in the show ring and pasture. As a young calf he was named Arizona National Livestock Show ROV Angus Grand Champion Bull and he captured the crowd favorite as well as Reserve Grand Champion at the ROV Angus Show during the 2011 National Western Stock Show.
Cherry Knoll Farms found Top Shelf to be a powerfully constructed, deep sided and attractively made bull and purchased an interest in him. Larry Rice, Flag Ranches bought 1/3 interest as well.
Breeders across the country are reporting his calves are hitting thr ground and looking awesome.
